Alone our thoughts can swirl a tornado,
choke out the sunflowers like the vines of a tomato
But when another heart arrives
and takes your hand,
together you can dive.
There you may find that the sharks are no longer hiding
and the stinging jelly fish was all in your mind.
Are you sure?
Your friend nods.
Yes, all is well; you will survive.
Now you are emerging from deep water caves
and you start to realize just how you have been saved.
Two hearts float above
surfing the waves
and then you land, no longer in a daze.
With warm sand underneath
and the horizon at a distance,
the sight is no longer tangled
and your path is decorated with
gratitude for your friend’s existence.
