Wisdom comes in all shapes and sizes, garnered from relationships, moving beyond our comfort zones, life experiences and “ah-hah” moments that shape the way we perceive the world and ultimately, our place in it. This blog is about self-discovery and the rewards that come with living life FULLY. I will bring you along with me through a myriad of experiences and observations happening in real time with the hope that it sparks wisdom for both of us and that you gain something from reading.
Please feel free to share your thoughts and leave a comment. I would love to hear from you!
Now for a very important disclaimer…
Personal growth is a process! LIFE is a process!
The thoughts and wisdom I share on this blog are as much for me to learn as they are to inspire you. I have by no means mastered self-awareness. I am constantly growing, changing, evolving and learning, just like you. I get depressed, I feel joy, I experience self-doubt and I pick myself back up. I started The Wisdom Shop because I am super-duper passionate about personal and spiritual growth. I believe the solution to global suffering begins with addressing our own. By healing ourselves, we heal each other, and thus, the world.
I bow to you as a fellow traveler on the road to a whole and fulfilled life. I’ve found that the secret to a successful trip is in packing light and taking every bend in the road as an opportunity to grow. Carry on, sweet thing! It’s a long trek but the good thing about hard work, especially the personal growth kind, is that it really does pay off.
A bit about me:
My name is Abigail, Abby for short. I am a writer, poet, hula hooper, dancer and wisdom seeker. Career-wise, I’m a writer, blogger, editor and communication strategist with a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Oregon. Being an Oregonian, I’m also a nature lover and outdoor adventurer. I’ve fallen in love with traveling and recently returned from three-in-a-half months backpacking solo through twelve countries in Europe. You will hear me refer to the impact of that trip in many of my blog posts. It was an incredible, life-affirming journey.
Please note: All words and photographs on this blog are original works by me, unless stated otherwise. If it’s been a few days since I’ve posted, rest assured I am out gathering inspiration. In my mind, quality over quantity is a great philosophy for blogging.
Welcome to the shop; I hope you enjoy reading!
